The cornerstone of the company was laid back in 1925, when the founder Hermann Schill sen. started his business by developing different machines for butcheries, such as circular bone saws, knive sharpeners and machines for crushing ice blocks.
Official foundation of the company MAJA by registration in the trade register of the town of Kehl on 15 July 1955. The company's rise through the decades of the 20th century began. The small craft enterprise from that time is nowadays one of the world's leading manufacturers of machinery for food processing.
The world's first derinding machine type SPE 58 is launched and takes off on its triumphal course through the world. It is a real revolution for meat companies, as the exhausting, time-consuming and also dangerous process of derinding meat pieces by handknive could be finally automated thanks to the new MAJA technology.
The first MAJA flake ice producing machine, series EA, is launched.
The company's founder Hermann Schill sen. dies in 1971. His three sons assume the management.
MAJA is continuously growing: In summer 1994, the new administration building is inaugurated, with offices for the MAJA-management, the accounting and HR department as well as with a coference and training room, equipped with modern presentation media.
The brothers Reinhard and Joachim Schill assume the sole management of the company. Two years later, in 1999, Berthold Gassmann is appointed Managing Director Sales.
Foundation of the daughter company MAJA Food-Technology, Inc. in Omaha / Nebraska (USA), for sales, after sales service and spare parts supply in the US.
Foundation of the MAJAtronic GmbH as a subsidiary of MAJA-Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG originally as an engineering office. Over the years, the company has specialized in the development and production of controller independent robot mechanics for industrial applications. It is marketed under the brand autonox24® (www.autonox24.com).
Foundation of the French subsidiary MAJA SARL, based in Entzheim / Strasbourg (France); Managing Director Jürgen Hörter. 6 employees service the customers in France, one of the most important markets for MAJA in Europe.

The extension of the production hall at the MAJA headquarter in Kehl-Goldscheuer is completed now. Since the beginning of 2018, the 2.400 m² manufacturing hall has been continuously taken into operation by the final assembly departments. The new office surface of 620 m² has been ready for occupancy by the research & development departments and the MAJA subsidiary MAJAtronic since March. MAJA invested about 4 millions Euro in the construction project. Further investments are planned in the course of the year to enlarge the machinery of the mechanical manufacturing department.
